FREAKIER FRIDAY(2025)

What a great surprise this was... I really like the first Freaky Friday, so when they announced this, I was skeptical and optimist at the same time, and I'm REALLY HAPPY to say, this is the most "mid" movie I've seen in these last few years. This is not irony or sarcasm, I'm really happy that is the case.

I still remember and long for the return of the days where going to the movies was mostly a fun experience. You'd go there, have a fun time, and life goes on. It doesn't need to be this "huge epic insane omg" event that people seem to treat it as nowadays. There are many reasons for that, and I'm not going to babble about it, but I'm so glad, Freakier Friday is just a fun time. I had fun, and there were people LAUGHING during the movie, all the time (I went to the movies). It's not the funniest movie ever but it just goes to show how much we all miss this simple, honest, fun time... When was the last time you actually went to a movie screening and had people giggling during the whole movie? Most of all, this movie was indeed very """mid""", but it sure as hell is memorable. I'm really happy I went to watch this.

SEX DRIVE(2008)

Today I (re)watched the unrated version of Sex Drive (2008). It's a pretty good movie, and while I wouldn't say it's particularly funny, it's very nice to watch.

What I mean by that is that it's a movie that has a lot of heart, specially on the unrated version where you can frequently hear the production team giggling on the background of certain scenes. I don't know, you definitely gotta watch it to know what I mean but I enjoyed my time here and I really recommend this movie.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND (2010)

Yep, this movie is FILLED with mistakes and it feels like there's a whole hour of content that was just not able to be shipped for some reason. I'm not even into the whole Tim Burton aesthetic but this is just awesome... Seriously, few moments in movies made me so hyped as when Alice wore that armor suit and started listing the weird shit she saw in Wonderland. There are cringe moments, yeah there are, but mostly, it is fun.

Oh I should also mention I watched this one cause I just finished reading the original Alice in Wonderland book, and sorry, FIGHT ME on this but this movie is WAY closer to nailing the "alice" aesthetic than the 1951 animation ever was.

⭐CHARLIE's ANGELS⭐

I honestly like everything about this movie, what can I say? The soundtrack is fire, the fighting scenes are to this day my favorite of any live action movie and the plot works well enough. It's a cool badass movie just for the sake of being a cool badass movie. Definitely one of my favorites of all time!.

⭐GROUNDHOG DAY⭐

This is one of my favorites. I love stories about "asshole becomes great person",it's inspiring, beautiful and that's what humanity is all about for me. When I first watched Groundhod Day I thought it was a cool movie but that was it, the thing is... I kept thinking about it. Look, as much as I would love to talk here for hours about its depth and spiritual messages, I do not comprehend this movie that much yet, so I'll just say that I feel like this movie is a rabbithole of hope and beauty. Yeah, I think that fits.

⭐MEAN GIRLS⭐

I'll cut corners on this review: I love this movie. It's funny, it's powerful, it's charismatic as hell and most of all, it manages to shares it's VERY IMPORTANT message without being obnoxious. I love this movie with my soul.

⭐EVIL DEAD RISE⭐

Surprise surprise! I admit it... it's weird that this is on my "top movies ever" list. The thing is, this is one of the few movies that nail my "aesthetic dream". What I mean is, I have an idealization in my head of what is a "perfect aesthetic", a set of technical and artistic decisions that in my point of view, result in the "perfect" (visually) movie. Evil Dead Rise manages to get everything right for me. It has a couple of scary simple scenes, it's characters are charismatic while being grounded, the gore is EXTREMELY red and the photography is amazing. There are so many times in this movie I can just pause it and have a new wallpaper its unbelievable. I love the Evil Dead franchise and yes I get this is not Ash and yadda yadda yadda, yeah this isn't Ash and honestly? I think that's great. For God's sake people we already got 3 movies and 3 seasons of Ash vs Evil Dead let the man rest.
